Adult Circumcision
What is aesthetic circumcision?
In simple terms, this procedure involves the removal of the foreskin that covers the head of the penis and can be done at any age.
Who should consider aesthetic circumcision?
Penile aesthetics and sexual function are the most popular reasons for male adult circumcision. The vast majority of men seeking male adult circumcision are motivated by cosmetic, aesthetic and social reasons. If you’d like to remove your foreskin for aesthetic reasons, there are health benefits as well such as reducing the risk of catching or spreading certain sexually transmitted diseases. Circumcision, however, is not a substitute for safe sexual practices.
Our approach to aesthetic circumcision
If you are interested in aesthetic circumcision for penile aesthetics or sexual function, you can book a consultation with our clinic. Dr. Soon will provide a consultation and discuss the procedure with you. Male adult circumcision is done under local anesthetic, called a penile nerve block, as an outpatient procedure. The foreskin is removed. The stitches will dissolve in about 4 weeks. A dressing is wrapped around the incision, which will usually fall off within 48 hours. In general, there is mild pain that lasts 2 days and only requires only Tylenol (acetaminophen) and/or Advil (ibuprofen) for pain control. You can shower after 48 hours. The head of the penis will be sensitive, and the skin over it will become dry and peel away. This is all normal. Some swelling and a little blood at the incision is also normal. You should refrain from any sexual activity, including masturbation, for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, you will be completely healed and can resume your regular sexual activity. I will be available to you as you recover from your procedure.

Does circumcision help with cleanliness?
Circumcision prevents the development of smegma under the foreskin. Circumcision may also reduce the risk of penile cancer, certain sexually transmitted diseases and urinary tract infection. Adults who are uncircumcised must practice daily foreskin hygiene.
Do circumcisions hurt?
Pain after circumcision can be controlled with Tylenol (acetaminophen) and/or Advil (ibuprofen) and lasts about 2 days. The head of your penis will be sensitive for about 2 weeks, and the stitches may catch on your underwear as you move around.
